Facility Requirements & Student Enrollment
What are the facility requirements for the Low Light Tactics course? -
The Low Light Tactics course is conducted both indoors and outdoors and includes drills such as simulated vehicle stops. This course requires a multi-room building and suitable outdoor space, both of which must permit the use of non-lethal marking cartridges (e.g., Simunition).
What facilities are needed for other SFI courses?
All other SFI courses involve live fire on the range. Both indoor and outdoor ranges are acceptable, provided they have at least 10 yards of distance and a minimum of six positions on the firing line. Please note that a minimum distance of 50 yards is required for the Night Vision Course. Outdoor ranges must allow night shooting for all courses except the Master Coach Course, which is usually conducted during daylight.
What is the required class size?
The minimum class size is 10 paid students, and the maximum class size is generally 12. However, this may be increased depending on the availability of SFI instructors.
