Lumens vs. Candela
Lumens are the measurement of the total amount of light emitted. Candela is the light intensity measured at the beam's brightest spot. Broadly speaking, the candela rating is indicative of how far a light will reach. Scout Light Pro Ultra (U) models deliver more lumens and greater surround light to help users maintain situational awareness, while Scout Light Pro Turbo (T) models provide a narrow, far-reaching beam for extreme long-distance ID.
White Light vs. IR
Every SureFire Scout Light Pro delivers the highest-quality visible white light from the finest and most robust LEDs available, ensuring dependable performance while resisting the effects of recoil. Additionally, select models incorporate a separate infrared emitter for use with night vision devices. In these models, you can switch from visible light to IR radiation that is invisible to the naked eye with a quick and easy twist of the light bezel. SureFire Vampire (V) Scout Light Pros offer dependable illumination in both spectrums.
FULL-SIZE VS. MINI
SureFire Scout Light Pro models are available in two distinct body sizes: full-size and mini. Full-size models operate on 6-volt power and provide more lumens and longer runtime. Mini models offset shorter runtime with extreme compactness, a substantial benefit to users with smaller and/or more crowded accessory rails. Powered by 3-volt batteries, Minis still pack generous output and, in the case of Turbo models, minimally reduced candela. Whichever you choose, your Scout Light Pro will withstand the rigors of combat without weighing down your weapon
DUAL FUEL VS. STANDARD
Our Dual Fuel technology offers the option of using rechargeable or lithium primary batteries to power select Scout Light Pro models. These models (DF and all Turbos except the M640T) include the appropriate rechargeable battery and charging cable to ensure easy on-the-fly refueling, but they also operate on one (3V) or two (6V) 123A lithium batteries to keep you in the fight when necessary. Standard Scout Light Pros run only on 123A batteries but offer the advantage of lighter weight and maximum compactness where it matters.
