Haven't had it long but it's a 5 star performer! Built like a tank and extremely reliable. Coupled with a tape switch it's simply awesome!

There are various uses for taclights whilst on patrol. Searching an area where there may be a hidden suspect, slicing corners in darkened premises, used as a debilitating beam to disorient but MOST IMPORTANTLY to identify not only the face of the individual you are focusing on but also what they have in their hands and about their person and/or within grabbing distance. Many lights on the market have decent spill and have adequate brightness for most tasks but the X300 Ultra does it all. Strobe features are practically useless in the field and the momentary-on press feature of the X300 Ultra can easily be reached by either thumb or forefinger while bearing down and even though the light pumps out 500 lumens (and I can't stress enough how BRIGHT this monster is!) taclights are never going to be on for more than a few minutes while on patrol anyhow. The importance of this is that the battery life (1.5 on-hours) is so awesome and the temperature climb of such a high powered emitter is so slight that the X300 Ultra honestly has no downside and is just awesome awesome awesome. That, coupled with Surefire's amazing customer service makes choosing this product for your home defense/sport shooting/Duty Carry a win win scenario.
Amazing product, 10/10 to Surefire for this great tool!

As with all Surefire products, Its top of the line in quality, durability and reliability. It is super bright and goes on/off with ease, even with gloves. I have had several weapon lights from several manufacturers, by far this is the best. It may be a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. For the professional who must count on his equipment, Surefire is there.

I've owned one since the Ultra model came out and just got a second one. I use them in my clubs low light competitions and for HD.
Every low light match has someone's cheap light falling off, flickering, shutting down or just flat out quitting. Not the X300!
Until SF comes out with the 1000 lumen version this is the only one to get.

Earlier this month I received my Surefire X300 Ultra 500 Lumens Flashlight of my Glock 17 Gen 3. All I can say is that I will most definitely be buying from Surefire again in the future. I expected the best from Surefire and I got ONLY the best from Surefire. The flashlight has a very solid top quality construction and the 500 Lumen output is intensely blinding (tested the light in the dark NOT mounted on my Glock). The only thing I would say that's some what of a con but is also a pro is FOR ME, other people may differ, is how snug the flashlight is when mounting it. I consider myself to be an average strength type of guy and mounting the flashlight due to the very tight fit was challenging. However, once it was mounted there was absolutely no play/wiggling of the flashlight which is awesome! All in all, I will most definitely buy another Surefire product in the future for my next handgun. $300 is a kind of a deep dive, but it's WORTH every single penny. Thanks a lot Surefire!
