This groundbreaking light is designed for maximum versatility, serving as both an everyday carry light and an improvised weapon light. The Tactician’s dual-output LED is paired with a proprietary reflector to create our MaxVision Beam, a useful wall of light that fills in the space around you. Hand-tighten its front bezel to set the light to deliver all 800 lumens for longer-range or tactical tasks; rotate counterclockwise a quarter-turn for 5 lumens of light for those tasks requiring less light and more runtime. Either setting is activated in momentary-on mode with a press of the tailcap; twist for constant-on mode.

A lightweight but durable aerospace-aluminum body is knurled for a secure grip, and a Mil-Spec hard anodized finish protects against abrasion and corrosion. Because you’re going to want to take this portable powerhouse with you just about everywhere you go, it features a robust pocket clip for secure bezel-up carry in a pocket, pack, or purse.

Truth

Going to give a straight forward and honest review here, my first Tactician did not work, I really didn’t want to like this light but after receiving a second and carrying it for a month I have fell in love with it and am starting to see where the surefire fan base comes from, awesome job surefire, next is the EDCL2-T.

Best light so far

This is not my first Surefire light, and probably won't be my last. I have a G2X, 2 each 6PX Pros, an E1B, a G2 with Maxvision, and an E2D Defender. They're all great lights, but this light beats them all. All metal construction, light weight, small size, easy operation, powerful beam, long run time, etc. A small but important feature is the heavy duty pocket/belt clip. I've had to periodically replace the clips on my other lights because they get bent and don't hold up (and Surefire has been great about replacing them). However, this clip will probably never deform because it is much heavier duty than anything they have made in the past. The only "weak" part of this light is the lanyard. It's not very big and probably won't work at all for a guy with really large hands and/or a muscular wrist.

EDC greatness

You can tell that this light was designed by gun fighters for gun fighters. James Yeager definitely hit the nail on the head with this one. Everything has a purpose for serious gun fighting application. This is not a light to look for your keys in the dark this is a light that will work when you want it to and not when you dont. the max vision beam is like having the sun in your pocket. the clip and tail cap are perfect.

Couldn't ask for a better light

I work in corrections and this light can easily spot hidden items that a dull light wouldn't . I use the low light arriving home so that I don't wake the wife or kids when I enter the house. 5 lumens doesn't sound like much but its plenty enough to see in complete darkness. The light is made extremely well and hasn't had any scratches when being carried in my back pocket. Ive wrestled with inmates and hit the steal wall behind me and still no damage to the bezel. I carry this light everyday and it has not failed me in anyway. I would recommend this light to anyone who uses a light hard There are many other lights to choose from for minor use but the Tactician hands down is the best hard using light Ive ever had! Thank you Surefire and Mr Yeager for designing a light thats both powerful and simple. No need for complex when you need it now and with out compromise.

Got this from James Yeager of YouTube fame.

Not my first high quality light but it has become my favorite go to light. In fact I am waiting for delivery of my second one to carry in each vehicle. Amazing for its size and delivers as promised on performance an ease of use. You will not be disappointed.

Tactician E2T-MV

What can I say? This has to be the best Gunfighting/EDC flashlight on the market! For the short time that I have owned it, it has surpassed all expectations. The MaxVision beam puts all the light right were you want it! Surefire and Yeager hit it out of the park with this one! My wife loves hers too! She likes the 5 lumens feature to help her find 'STUFF' in her purse at night without becoming blind! The packaging is nice and it even came with a full set of spare batteries and a lanyard! This is my new favorite EDC flashlight!

Perfect EDC light if you conceal carry a pistol

I first learned about this light from James Yeager when it was just being developed. If you aren't aware, James is a well-known firearms instructor and had specific features in a light that didn't exist at the time. Surefire eventually listened, and from my understanding incorporated each of those features into designing the Tactician.

For my concealed carry pistol I don't run a mounted flashlight, therefore in lowlight situations I would need a handheld light. This is that light. By having the momentary-on mode it allows you to quickly and easily activate and deactivate the light.

I own a bunch of Surefire Weapon Mounted lights, but for some reason I have been using a pocket EDC light by another company. My previous light was a good light and not cheap and this blows it away. It is tough and very durable. It has some weight to it because it is all metal which I really like. The size is also a perfect fit to have in one hand while holding your pistol in the other. It also comes with a detachable lanyard which helps when extracting mags of fixing a malfunction.

I am sure this will be a popular choice for those in Law Enforcement and those who want a good everyday carry light and don't run a mounted light on their pistol. You can't go wrong with The Tactician.
