EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra protect your hearing without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. Their foam-tipped stem design, featuring soft memory-foam Comply Canal Tips, fits most people and provides a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 28dB. Sounds, at safe levels, are allowed to pass through into the ear canal, while potentially harmful noises (above 85dB) are reduced via a proprietary design that incorporates a special noise-reducing filter. EP7s include attached filter caps, which can be inserted for additional protection and blocking out lower-level noise, like that heard on a plane, in situations where hearing ambient sounds or conversations isn't critical. Right/left color-coded Sonic Defenders Ultra are made from a soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer that provides all-day comfort and an extended product life (up to 6+ months, depending on usage and care). Their patented EarLock® retention rings lock the earplugs in place, while soft foam-tipped stems provide secure seals in the ear canals. And their low-profile design means they can be worn while wearing a helmet or mask, or while using a phone or headset. Available in clear, black, or orange.

Comfortable EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra also serve as earpieces for compatible radio communication systems* simply by removing the noise-reducing filter and attaching the earpiece to the system. NOTE: EP7 earpiece will not provide hearing protection if the noise-reducing filter is removed.

EP7s are available in small (S), medium (M), and large (L). Proper size is based on the dimensions of your ear's concha bowl. Size "medium" fits most people; however, to ensure the best possible fit, review the earpiece sizing chart by clicking on the Sizing Chart image. EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra are sold as a single left/right set or in a box containing 25 sets. Each set is packaged in a convenient carry case and includes a polymer lanyard and an extra set of memory foam Comply Canal Tips; replacements available--see Parts and Accessories on this page.

Not bad

I hadn't had a chance to user them too much but I can't complain. Surefire makes great products and I've yet to find one I hate.

be careful of sizing

I had no idea what size I needed. Bought the wrong size and have never been able to wear them. There's 20 bucks wasted.

I am a sporting clays shooter and shoot every weekend. I do not like muff style hearing protection. I've used a band style plug insert type that is worn over the top of the head. I've now switched to your product. It is economically priced, ease to use and maintain, and comfortable to wear. One of the best purhcases I've made in awhile.

EP7S Badass ear plug

I would say these are a must have and I wish I would have had them a long time ago as I could have mitigated some of the permanent damage ive done to my ears over the years. I use them for when I go shooting and also during some of the really loud events I work at and could not be happier with the level of protection they provide.

I've had these for 5 months now and wear them twice a week at the indoor range. The first time out I worn them with my Electronic muffs for extra protection since I was shooting 1911 .45. Half way through I took off the muffs to see just how good the EP7's work... WOW, I am impressed! I have not worn the muffs since. These are the most comfortable ear plugs I have ever worn. Just received a set of replacement Canal Tips. Good job, Surefire!

Foam to EP7

I used to use 32 dB NRR foam earplugs, but they were problematic because they were non-reusable, got dirty very quickly, and could get stuck in the ear if one were to actually take advantage of its full 32 dB. The EP7's are the perfect solution: easily cleaned, reusable, and secure. However, like foam earplugs, they do attenuate the high frequencies.

Got these to shoot a .308 with a muzzle brake at an out door range. Noise canceling more than adequate, voice levels not near as good as electronic headphones, but well worth it for getting a comfortable cheek weld on the stock without headphones getting in the way. I love them, need more!!!

Sports Photographer

I. Have very small ears, so even the small size became very uncomfortable after awhile. I didn't notice any difference with or without the little plug opened or closed. I liked them, but couldn't wear them for very long. I wish you had an XS size. Then they'd fit children better, too. I'm a race track photographer, so need to hear people talking during the races, which are very loud. If these fit me I'm sure I'd love them.

EP7's not too bad

The first few time you put them in your ears are a pain. After that they go in pretty easy. I shot indoors and outdoors with them. Left the plugs out to see how loud things were. I could hear people talk just fine, muffled pistol and rifle rounds very well. They preformed the same indoors and out. Just wished they came with a case, the one that it comes with doesn't stay shut very well. That's the only down side.
