I like the magnet feature, size, and dual output. The magnet feature allows hands free placement where there is a metal surface. The beam is impressive, it will light up the woods and extends down range well. Unique size and shape.

Y300 Carry

I wasn't sure if i was going to like like this light but i really enjoy using it. I had to move some furniture last night for a friend at his girls house on his trailer and the. House we went to had no outside light so i used my surefire it worked great. The spill and beam was really good for how small it is. We were outside for a while talking and moving furniture still had it on after a while we left were driving to his house. Got a flat tire again the light came in handy checked what the damage was had a blow out changed the tire glad it had the magnet it really came in handy while changing the tire i really am glad i brought this light and im glad i took it with me that night.

The only thing i can say i don't like about the the light is the magnetic clip. It is a little to big they could have made it thinner cause when you put your shirt over the light it bulges out and you can see it over your shirt. The thinner metal clip works better but then you cant use the magnet in the light to attach it to a metal surface hopefully they can make a better clip later on. I heard they were gonna make an attachment to attach to a gun that would be cool hopefully it happens.

Only one flaw; excellent light

I like this design; compact and functional.
That said I have one observation concerning the magnetic belt clip. This clip will not work on a double thickness belt (like Milt Sparks or Beltman) There is insufficient width of the clip slot to allow it to close fully when forced on one of these belts; the tab at the end of the clip that is supposed to catch on the bottom of the belt to prevent it from being pushed up and off does not even touch the back of the belt. I am forced to carry in my picket, clipped to the pocket top with the enclosed matal clip (removed magnet as it is un-needed in this mode of carry). Still recommend this light. It is currently my EDS light.

Customizable wonder

I have many Surefire flashlights and bought this one because of its EDC possibilities. The magnetic belt clip proved too bulky for me so I reconfigured it with the metal clip. I also removed the magnet from the base which makes changing the batteries much easier. It took me a while to get use to this style of flashlight, but i really like it now. This flashlight produces a very nice beam with great range.

The magnetic belt holder is poorly designed. The flashlight pops off when I get in & out of cars. I almost lost it twice. I switched to the belt clip & have not had a problem so far. The reason I purchased it was for the magnetic feature on the light. With the belt clip it is no better than the light I had. Would like to trade it in for another light......... disappointed.

Perfect for EDC

So, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one with the Peacekeeper. I have found myself using it constantly. It is a very small light in terms of length. It's shorter that the backup line, and that's great. Before I actually held it, I wasn't sure about the width, but honestly, it feels great in my hand. I have medium to large hands, and I really think this is a perfect fit. I don't know if it will feel as amazing to those with smaller hands, but I don't think it would be a big issue either.

The beam is tight, but with enough spill to create a nice field of vision. It's very similar to that of the E2D Ultra, and I'm sure that's because of the TIR lens. As mentioned it doesn't have exactly the same hue though, and I personally love the yellow hues as they are much better for vision. The hue though isn't bad, and overall the beam, as I said, is similar to the E2D Ultra, but not quite as throwy. Don't get me wrong, this baby will throw and give enough side spill to function very effectively for most anything.

The best thing about the light aside from the size, and beam is the magnetic clip. I can't say I even tried the metal one that came with it, and I probably won't. The magnet is incredibly strong, and I put it through some paces. Several of these I'm sure would void my warranty, but let's just say, I won't need it anytime soon anyway. The magnet makes for very quick draw from the belt, and when replacing it (holstering it) you can fell it pull and snap tight and secure right to the clip. It's really great. I wish more of my SFs had this carry option. It also provides almost limitless versatility for uses. I've clipped it everywhere, and I now use it every single day.

If you were on the fence, get off, and just pick one up. You won't regret it. B&H has the best price I've found. Which reminds me, why doesn't SF have the best prices on their own lights? Regardless, I love this light, and this company. Keep up the innovation, guys! It's really appreciated.

Great design

Great ergonomics, comfortable to hold, and easy to use with one hand. I like the low-level option, as it facilitates searching in close quarters in a dark environment when the high level output tends to be too much.

This is by far the handiest flashlight i have ever owned. The magnetic holster is top notch. It would take quite a jolt to knock it loose from its mount.

It is a nice compliment to my conceal carry because of its small size and 500 lumens, and it can be deployed very quickly without having to fumble with traditional style flashlight holsters. Its a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Once again SUREFIRE'S engineers have come up with another amazing product. Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping me one step ahead of the bad guys.

Extremely Well-Executed Design!!!

This is an extremely well executed design by SureFire. I have been buying/using SureFire products for about 20 years, and this is by far one of their best designs to date. First of all the options for carrying this unit are exceptional, the magnetic clip in conjunction with the magnet installed on the body, uses opposing magnetic polarity that make the flashlight quickly "snap" into place without much effort or fumbling. The belt clip itself is made of what seems to be a nylon based polymer that is quite comparable to the frame of a Glock pistol. It does not seem like it will become brittle and snap or break. There is an included metal clip which can be mounted to the body of the flashlight, but doing so won't allow use of the polymer belt clip. I would like to see an extra polymer clip included in its place or extras sold by SureFire, not a big deal though. The polymer clip can still be easily removed from a belt to use on a cap or hardhat.

So, onto the light itself.... 500 Lumens on high!! It is a great production, with the color being more white than the greenish hue produced by the E2DL Defender, and that is a welcome change. It has a very large hot spot with enough spill to completely illuminate a room. On the low setting, a welcome & more usable 15 lumens is plenty to perform tasks that are very close in front of you. Thank You SureFire for doing this. And of course there the switch, it has a momentary mode with a push of the button, or a constant on with a short rotation of the button. Both means of activation are easily accomplished with one hand. This has already become my main EveryDay Carry light!! I just clip it on my belt in the morning, & take it off at night when my day is over. Then it resides on my night stand, it is really THAT GOOD!! I've already considered buying another one, but this will probably force me to retire all of my other SureFires. Great piece of kit!! Don't hesitate to buy if you're on the fence, you won't regret it!!

The Y300 Ultra is a paradigm-shifting illumination tool that is exceptionally versatile, having virtually limitless mounting options stemming from its magnetic base; ultra-compact, since its body accommodates two batteries side-by-side and therefore fits perfectly in your palm; and its light output is extremely powerful thanks to its high-performance LED and beam-intensifying TIR lens. This one-of-a-kind premium model—part flashlight, part hands-free light—boasts 500 lumens of white light with significant reach on high, and 15 lumens of extended-runtime on its low-output setting.

The Y300 Ultra was engineered from the ground up with an integral and powerful magnetic base that magnetically attaches to most smooth metal surfaces—making it ideal for hands-free use. This base also magnetically connects to an included quick-detach belt clip that permits the Y300 to easily attach to a belt, tactical vest, or pack where it can be instantly detached and accessed. This instant access, and ability to quickly re-attach the light magnetically, is especially vital for tactical situations. The light can also be pivoted within this belt-clip, so it faces forward for more hands-free options. A steel two-way pocket clip is also included and can be easily installed to provide additional secure attachment options, such as fastening the Y300 to the bill of a cap or carrying it securely in a pocket.

Activating the Y300 Ultra is done via its ergonomic toggle switch that permits easy one-finger or thumb operation—press the switch on either side for high-output momentary-on activation or rotate the switch up or down for constant-on high-output activation. The low-output setting is easily accessed by pressing (for momentary-on) or rotating (for constant-on) the switch within two seconds after initial activation.

Precision machined from aerospace aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish, the incredibly durable Y300 Ultra is also O-ring and gasket sealed to keep out dust and moisture, making it an ultra-reliable illumination tool that’s designed to meet any situation head on.

NOTE: The Y300 Ultra is not designed for weapon attachment. For a weapon-mountable option, with similar features and the same maximum output, see the X300 ® Ultra.

WARNING: Do not use, place, or store the Y300 Ultra near pacemakers or other electronic devices that are sensitive to magnetic fields unless the magnetic base is removed.
