I got a prepaid visa card as a Christmas present in 2013 from my employer. I looked around for something I could and would use. I have 2 old bulb style flashlights police models (one is 30 years old} and a Surefire 9P and M6 Guardian. In February of 2014 I was getting tired of replacing bulbs in my old lights and the bulbs were getting hard to find, but the only LED light I had to compare with was my Surefire L2 Lumamax and it was the old version with the 15/100 lumens that turned out to have a cracked reflector and the beam output was not the best. I just happened to work with a guy who was showing off his newer model 3 light level LED police light by another poplar company and I was impressed by the beam so being a die hard Surefire fan I went shopping and looked on the Surefire website and I found the UB3T Invictus, to quote the Surefire advertisement of this illumination tool " The Invictus puts out a tightly focused 1,000-lumen beam of brilliant white light that's suitable for spotlight/searchlight applications such as sweeping a mountainside in a search-and-rescue operation, locating a take-out spot for your boat in pitch darkness, or providing suspect-blinding illumination for a SWAT entry team". All I can say after using this light is WOW what a light/illumination tool, the advertisement is correct and I am amazed every time I use this illumination tool as well as my co-workers after showing off the many light outputs. I worked with a SWAT Team in the 1980's and I wished I had a light like this back then. I now am retired from Law Enforcement and manage a national security company and I still work out in the field at high end accounts and my UB3T is always with me when I am on duty and it impresses everyone I show it off to including Police Officers. I work in the deserts of Arizona and my UB3T has seen all types of weather elements from monsoon rain to sand from extreme heat to some chill. With my UB3T I have been able to light up washes, golf courses, fields, deserts and the sides of mountains as well as dark construction sites and I even used the strobe sitting to ward off a mother bob cat instead of having to put the cat down. I guess I should mention I have the old model of the UB3T that only has a max output of 800 lumens and I use the 160 output and the 350 output the most but I really can tell the difference when I crank it up to the 800 lumens. I highly recommend this illumination tool to anyone who uses a light at work and works in the dark, but do yourself a favor if you buy this light, invest in a couple of sets of the surefire rechargeable batteries and always have the spare disposable batteries for emergency's. After I bought my UB3T I sent in my L2 Lumamax to have the reflector repaired, it was unable to be repaired and Surefire replaces the old light with the newer model that has the 15/200 lumen output. Well Thought out and great update
I was looking for a replacement for my early model M3LT that was lost along with a U2 some time ago, to go along with a new Peacekeeper and Defender Ultra I recently bought. tried one out in person and thought immediately that Surefire's engineers crossed an U2 & M3LT and made an experimental light. I liked my M3lt a lot but sometimes the hi-low wasn't enough and the tailcap switch needed to be tweaked. Then I received my Ub3t from Surefire and realized the tailcap switch setup which I didn't notice on the store model I tried and was even more happy. the two-stage switch was the icing on the cake. Surefire in my opinion hit all the boxes on this light that I was looking for.
The light itself with the upgraded TIR optic has just enough spill and still can throw a great hotspot to light exactly what you want lit up. The selector ring is a big help for close up work and if you need it max power is avail just by pressing the tail switch. The Ub3t is a step in right direction from the M3lt, if you need lower light levels and max at the same time.
With the UB3T and the Peacekeeper I'm covered for duty, my Defender rides Shotgun. I've tried others but I trust and use only Surefire. I've never had one fail on me yet.

Love this light
As a machinist I LOVE the flashlights... I mean illumination tools surefire makes. I will only buy made in the USA lights. This is my 4th Surefire product and surely won't be my last. This is a great light. Can't wait to get others.

Qualities comparable with 50$ flashlights, was expecting much more for the 500$ that I paid.

Another great Surefire flashlight
Another amazing light instrument from Surefire. I own a few dozen surefire tactical and combat lights, about half now are LED. The UB3T Invictus is the brightest and has a really nice lens; like the lens you see on high end HID lights in cars. The variable light intensity allows choice for brightness to fit any situation and the SOS feature is really cool. The only drawbacks are the price (it is certainly worth the price if you can afford it) and the size. I am spoiled by the E2D LED defender as it fits easily into my pocket.

This one is perfect, I would not change anything. I want to know it will be as reliable as my defense weapon. I highly recommend it to anyone.

UB3T Invictus - Awesome!
I've had this light now for about 4 months. Bought as a heavy duty workhorse light. Super powerful, made like a Swiss watch, handles great in the hand. Love the ability to use the low setting while walking to the hunting stand in the morning. High setting is great when trying to locate downed game at dusk. Used in heavy driving rain storms and never an issue with water getting into the light. Hands down the best light I've seen or owned. Highest setting easily lights up an entire hillside or valley.

One of the best lights I've ever owned. I've used it for camping, hiking, fishing, and simply searching. The variable output on this light is ideal for someone that doesn't always need the extreme high output. I've set it low enough to dig through my duffle at night, but then needed the high output seconds later. This UB3T actually fits in my cargo pocket. Although it is a little bulky for pockets, I usually have it in my duffle or car while traveling anywhere. The fuel gauge is very useful by the way.

Excellent light, good power, and adjustability. I still prefer the dual-output tailcap click switch—press for momentary-on high, click for constant-on high, return to off then press or click again to select low with a partial shroud like the E2D defender.

Excellent Emergency Light
I bought this light because of the various light output levels and big lens. I use it for heavy lighting projects where I need range and power. I have not been disappointed!
