I was a bit reluctant to try these as my ears and ear canals seem to be a bit odd. Things like Apple ear buds just fall right out and never worked for me. Regardless, I thought I'd give them a try. So far, I'm impressed. They're easy to put in, lock into place as advertised, and knock down the high decibel sounds well without making me feel like I've had concrete poured into my ears.

I wore these to the range an put about 500 through my .45ACP and had no problem with deadening the sound. I have yet to use them with my 454 I may use the surefire plugs plus my muffs for that but overall they are a very good inexpensive earplug. When you unplug them you can hear a little bit better while talking to people at the range without having your ears blown out by other people shooting.
Only issue I have is that my right ear plug tends to get a little loose on me after going through a couple clips at the range and I have to press the plug in again. Other than this there awsome.

I purchased these because I shift work in a manufacturing plant that requires ear protection. They worked great and they were as advertised.
I was a little disappointed because I needed to wear them for 12 hours a day and it would seem that after a week of wearing them my ears became very tender inside. I ended up switching back to the soft disposable types.
Although they are great for short periods of time I wouldn’t recommend to wear them 12 hours a day 5 days a week.

They work as advertised. I shoot and fly planes regularly, but I mainly got these for dancing, as I was hoping that they'd bring the music level down to a comfortable volume while still allowing me to hear conversations. They work rather well for this. The biggest problem I have is that because things are at a comfortable volume for me, I forget to speak up and no one else can hear me!

I just used this great hearing protection at the Formula One Race in Austin Texas. I sat on the first row in the MG and they worked as advertised!!!! Thank you.

My son does competitive shotgun shooting so adequate ear protection is a requirement for both the athletes and the spectators. I lost my first pair of these on a hunting trip and reordered 2 pairs for both my son and myself. Unlike most ear protection I have tried which is either too bulky or begins to hurt my ears after a period of time, these fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. It is also very easy to adjust the level of noise suppression depending on how firmly they are inserted. Highly recommended.

I work around nine extremely loud giant machines which run 24/7, so hearing protection is a requirement. The foam ear plugs always fall out of my ears and I'm always stopping to put them back in. I bought these and it has made a giant difference. They go in easily and are amazing at keeping the loud noises out but I can still hear my co-workers around me.

After retiring from the military I took a job in a high noise industry. I needed a good set of hearing protection plugs so I tried these. They truly provide excellent hearing protection, fit well and stay exactly where they are supposed to throughout the day. I recently ordered a second pair in the event I ever lose or misplace this pait

I measured my ear canals and ordered the recommended Medium according to my ear size, model EP4 (three flange).
After using with a shot gun it was apparent that the hearing protection was minimal. I tested these, and I was right they offer Practically No Hearing Protection (ie. <<15dB!!!), either with or without the removable ports blocked! This is after repeated installations and attempts to get a good seal.
Test your hearing protection here, to see if they offer at least 15dB:
These EP4 are not recommended. Maybe this is why no one this product in Western Canada. I feel sorry for the people that use these in the military/police, and think that they are getting the protection they need, unless this protection is actually tested after installation in a proper testing environment.

I have tried to wear these on a couple occasions and they simply won't stay in my ears. When I repeatedly push them in they work very well. But they slip out constantly.

EP4 Sonic Defenders® Plus protect your hearing without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. Their triple-flanged stem design fits larger ear canals and provides a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24dB. Sounds, at safe levels, are allowed to pass through into the ear canal, while potentially harmful noises (above 85dB) are reduced via a proprietary design that incorporates a special noise-reducing filter. EP4s include attached filter caps, which can be inserted for additional protection and blocking out lower-level noise, like that heard on a plane, where hearing ambient sounds or conversations isn't critical. Right/left color-coded Sonic Defenders Plus are made from a soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer that provides all-day comfort and an extended product life (up to 6+ months, depending on usage and care). Their patented EarLock® retention rings lock the earplugs in place, while soft, adjustable triple-flanged stems provide secure seals in the ear canals. A low-profile design means EP4s can be worn while wearing a helmet or mask, or while using a phone or headset. Available in clear, black, or orange.
Comfortable EP4 Sonic Defenders Plus also serve as earpieces for compatible radio communication systems* simply by removing the noise-reducing filter and attaching the earpiece to the system. NOTE: EP4 earpiece no longer provides hearing protection once the noise-reducing filter has been removed.
EP4s are available in small (S), medium (M), and large (L). Proper size is based on the dimensions of your ear's concha bowl. Size "medium" fits most people. For those with smaller (in diameter) ear canals, the two-flange stem of our EP3 Sonic Defenders may provide a better fit than the EP4's three-flange stem.

EP4 Sonic Defenders Plus are sold as a single left/right set or in a box containing 25 sets. Each set is packaged in a convenient carry case and includes a polymer lanyard.
