- Part 2.
Again, a great light. I work in a prison and the low beam helps on not waking the I/M's when doing security checks but when a whole lotta light is needed it will light up the whole cell. Even got the light to strobe (with some practice} when needed.

- Best of breed; incredible light
I've owned SureFire flashlights since they were dominating the space with 60 Lumen Incandescent flashlights that lasted for maybe 1 hour. But that was so so so much better than a MagLight...
Over the years I've upgraded from the Z2 combat light to the G2 LED to the LX2 Lumimax to the PX2 Fury. Each time I get a new model I am amazed at how much more bright and clear they become.
1000 Lumens takes it to a new level. This is the threshhold where the power of the light starts to compete with the ability to see what you are lighting up.
In other words, I can stand in the middle of my 5 acre clearing and see ALL parts of it at night, including deep into the woods. If a person was standing in the woods 150 meters away in the daylight, they would be hard to see. I don't think they would be that much harder to see with this light at night.
The 3 batteries is considerably longer, although not a problem to carry in my left jeans pocket with my keys. Just keep in mind that you cannot grab the light by the head and reach the back with your thumb. Just a difference in habit.
At first I didn't want the two stage tailcap switch, but in practical use I find it very useful. If I was a tactical operator, I would recommend you get the tactical model so you have 1000 lumens RIGHT NOW. Normal people can wait 0.25 seconds to double click it.
This is hands down, no questions asked, the best flashlight I am aware of in existence today.
Buy it. You will never go back.

Just got it and it puts out a lot of light. Sure could have used something like this when I was in the Army! Have 5 Sure Fire lights and they all still work after many years. Haven't had any other lights that last that long.

- My new P3X Fury
I still have the Z2 and the 9P from 2003 and as long as Surefire keeps making the P60-61 and the P90-91 incandescent bulbs. I'll have many more years of use out of them. but now the P3X fury came out. What a light, strong and far reaching. WOW that's all I got to say. One thing though, on the SF site indicates that @ 1000 lumens it will last 2.25 hours long. The packaging on my new light states that the runtime is 1.5 hours. Which is the right runtime ?.

This is one of many Surefire lights I have threw out the years and I have
not been disappointed. In fact they seam to get beater as the years go by. Since you went to LED's I don't have the problem of it going out at
the time I need it the most. Also the warning that the batteries are going is really great. Again thanks for a really great product.

I have four surefire flashlights now and am extremely happy with them all, especially the PX-3 Fury. The brightness and always the quality are the hallmarks of these flashlights and I expect the same from this one. 1000 lums is really bright outside, I have yet to use it inside, pity the poor creep who comes to my house uninvited. I see a lot of other brands on the market, but no competition for quality. Thanks Surefire!

- P3 Distance
Initially I was a little disapointed with the light difference compared to my P2 Fury, however once I went outside the P3X Shined. the P3X lights up the entire end of the block, compared to the P2 which was much dimmer at the distance.

I Love surefire but I would love more info on beam distance and the option to replace the OP(orange peel) reflector with the SMO or TIR lens reflectors so you can go from a flood to a spot, and its hard to tell online whether or not the surefire you are looking at online is a OP or TIR/SMO
reflector.....and where is the FL1 standard for each flashlight?

|Output / Runtime -- White Light|

|Low||15||lumens / 60 hours*|
** Runtime (at highest setting for multiple-output
lights) until output drops below 50 lumens
The P3X Fury has a virtually failure-proof ultra-high-output LED that delivers your choice of either 1,000 blinding lumens of perfectly focused light or 15 lumens of useful light. The 1,000-lumen output — with peak beam level of 22,000 candela — is enough for searching, signaling, or to overpower the dark-adapted vision of a threat. The 15-lumen output level is perfect for general work at close-to-medium distances and lets you greatly extend the flashlight’s runtime on a set of three lithium 123A batteries, a valuable feature when in the field or in remote locations without easy access to spare batteries. At either setting, a precision reflector delivers a smooth, far-reaching beam with a brighter central area and generous peripheral light to help maintain situational awareness.
The P3X Fury is activated with a click-type tailcap switch: press for momentary-on low, press further to click constant-on low, return to off and press or click on again within two seconds for high. The high-strength aerospace aluminum body is smoothly sculpted for a comfortable, secure grip in all kinds of weather and is coated with a Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish for extreme resistance to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion in even the harshest environments.
For a single-output version of this flashlight with a tactical tailcap switch, see the P3X Fury™ Tactical. For a smaller, lighter-weight version of this flashlight with a lower maximum output, see the two-battery P2X Fury™.
