M3 Saves Forgetful Officer
I am a police officer, and, like many other officers, there are times when I catch myself being lax and letting my guard down. It's dangerous, I know, but, unfortunately, working the midnight shift it becomes a bit of a challenge to do everything perfectly.

Yesterday I was on patrol in an area known for high narcotics sales. My partner and I were in civilian dress and driving a new, unmarked department vehicle, which the usual street criminals didn't recognize. While patrolling, we observed an individual attempting to conceal himself between two cars, so we stopped to investigate. As I exited the vehicle, I could see panic in the suspect's eyes as he contemplated whether or not to run. He then raised his hands, and the look in his eyes indicated he was clearly contemplating a different way to deal with the situation. Out came a rather large knife.

I always carry my pistol, equipped with an X200, and I always have a U2 Ultra™ in my vest pocket. But this time...oops—I didn't have my firearm in my hand. Luckily for me, I did have my M3 CombatLight® with a KL6 LED head ready in my hand. Instinctually, I shot the subject in the eyes with a blast of light. He reacted by turning his head and bringing his arm up to cover his eyes, dropping the knife, and letting out a loud "DAMN!" He was taken down and brought in without anyone getting hurt, but it's scary to think what could have happened had I not had my M3 ready to go.

Thanks for making a great product!

M3 Keeps Convoy Rolling
While serving in Iraq, we were patrolling the northern portion of Baghdad. My gunner's spotlight went dead, so I handed him my SureFire M3 CombatLight®. It wasn't 10 minutes before he yelled at us to stop because he'd found an IED in the road.

Thank you, SureFire!

Glass Broken, Life Saved
I'm a firefighter/EMT with a passion for flashlights, and the SureFire M3 CombatLight® is my poison.

Late one night, I responded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment; a car had collided with a pickup truck. Upon arrival, it was determined that the single occupant of the truck was badly injured and needed immediate attention, but the collision had left the driver's side door unusable. We needed immediate entry through the passenger side door, which was locked. Without hesitation, I reached for my M3, held it firmly, and shattered the window glass with its Strike Bezel™. I was then able to reach in and unlock the door, gaining access to the patient trapped inside.

My SureFire not only saved time, it saved a young man's life. Hats off to you, SureFire! Thanks for making a real difference.

Trial by Fire
I want to take a moment and commend you and the employees of SureFire for building a fantastic flashlight and merchandising product. Our firm, Myrtle Beach Indoor Shooting Range, Inc., recently suffered an early morning fire. The showroom area of our complex, consisting of approximately 3,000 square feet, was completely destroyed. Due to safeguards taken during construction of the building, as flashpoint temperature was reached, the flames were extinguished from a lack of oxygen. Nevertheless, the building's temperature rose to over 1100 degrees and filled with smoke, baking the merchandise throughout the store for nearly two hours before breaking through the outside wall. Fortunately, thanks to the heroic efforts of eleven different fire stations throughout Horry County, the fire was contained, and we only had one cartridge fire from the heat, with a quarter million rounds in the building!

SureFire's products took a real toasting, as they were located at the epicenter of the fire. The glass showcase containing your products collapsed from the heat, dumping all of our SureFire stock into the cauldron of smoke and heat. After the fire was extinguished, we sent several of our crew into the building to access the damage. They found the pile of SureFire lights and batteries. After stripping and prying the melted packaging from the lights, they pressed the buttons and were delighted to see that the flashlights still worked.

At the time of the fire, we carried the G2™ Nitrolon®, Executive Series, M3 Combatlight®, and M6® Guardian® flashlights in our inventory. They are all still working, and we’ve given many of them away as gifts to our employees as a remembrance of the event. We use the rest of the flashlights nearly every day while the building is being stripped for reconstruction. You have an impressive, dependable product. Even the batteries survived the heat, providing us with many hours of use since the fire. After seeing these flashlights in use, I sincerely believe they’re tough enough to have survived Sherman's conflagrations back in 1865…had there been SureFires back in 1865.

We are open again, still rebuilding, and just reordered more stock of SureFires. Just wait until the new building is finished — your product will headline the showroom floor.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
I work security at a local hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. One night we received a call that there was an ambulance arriving soon with two combative patients, so another security officer and I showed up to assist the ambulance crew. We took one of the reluctant patients into an emergency room, and, after getting her into restraints, the doctor arrived to examine the patient.

The doctor was trying to use his little Mini Maglite to check the patient's pupils, but it wasn’t bright enough, so one of the nurses suggested that he go get their big Maglite (like it was some sort of “super light”). As the doctor started for the door, I pulled my Surefire M3 CombatLight® from its holster, turned it on, and handed it to the doctor. The doctor proceeded to check the patient's pupils and couldn't believe how bright the light was. And how great the light worked. When he was finished, the doctor handed me back my M3 and told me what a great light it was.

The M3 may have been a little overkill (I carry a G2™ Nitrolon® with me also), but it sure impressed the doctor. And it continues to impress me every time I turn it on. My M3 and my G2 are always on my duty belt and get used constantly (I work the graveyard shift). I trust my life to these two pieces of engineering marvel.

Thanks Surefire.
