TRUE STORIES

People Say the Nicest Things

Word–of–mouth speaks volumes. Read what some of our customers have to say about legendary SureFire quality and performance.

Outdoorsman at Home in Indoor Studio
I'm a studio photographer who really appreciates the quality of light that your E1L Outdoorsman puts out - bright, beautiful, and smooth. I had to give a lecture on my specialty, "painting with light," so I decided to do a still life photo of oranges, in front of an audience of 60 people, and I lit it solely with my E1L. The results were great, and the audience was amazed at how well that little flashlight lit the subject.

SureFire Rechargeable Tricks Out Cyclist's Ride
I've been commuting by bicycle to my security job at a major metropolitan museum. After having my headlight stolen off my bike, I mounted my SureFire rechargeable flashlight to the handlebars. Not only does it outperform the more expensive bike lights, my co-workers remark that when I pull behind them on my bike, they think I'm in a spotlight-equipped vehicle that's trying to pull them over. Now that's illumination.

Thanks for making a great product.

G2 Crams in Gam Cam
I work as a nuclear medicine technologist, and we use large machines called gamma cameras. The one I usually operate cracked a part on the main operating shaft of the machine, and after an engineer determined the fix, required welding to get it up and running. The welder showed up and had to stick his head into the machine to access the repair area. He produced a Maglite, but it was too big too fit and too dim to do the job right. Naturally, I had my G2® Nitrolon® with me, so I handed it to the welder to use. He was duly impressed and managed to finish the repair quickly.

Not a life-or-death, thrill-a-minute story, I know, but thanks to my little G2, the gamma camera is up and running--and that's what counts.

iFlashlight?
This story doesn't contain any life-threatening situations or hidden danger, thankfully. I'm an Apple-authorized repair technician, and I use my SureFires, an E1L Outdoorsman and an A2 Aviator® daily.

The most novel use I've found for my Aviator is to trans-illuminate dark LCD displays to check for backlighting problems. When an LCD-based Mac has backlighting problems, the screen may look completely black, but there's actually an image on the display; it's just not visible, due to the malfunctioning backlighting tubes. By firing up the incandescent bulb of my Aviator and holding it against the front of the display, I can bounce the light off the back of the reflector panel and make out a dim but visible screen image. If there's a visible image, then it's a backlighting problem, typically an easy fix. If the screen remains dark, it's a bad screen. Only SureFire incandescents seem to have the necessary muscle to trans-illuminate LCD screens. And, for whatever reason, LED light is absorbed more readily by the LCD screen, so they don't work for the task.

My SureFires make my job as an Apple repair tech much easier, and many of my customers have remarked on how bright my "little lights" are and asked where they can get one of their own. I always give them a short and sweet answer: "Surefire.com, that's where."

Spotlight Dwarfed by Diminutive G2 LED
While playing a night game at summer camp, one of my counselors got out his "500,000-candlepower" spotlight. Seeing him and his light across the field, I pulled out my new G2® LED and shined it at him. After two or thee times of this he finally said, "Tyler, when you do that, I can't see anything." When I asked how he knew it was me, he said, "You're the only one with an LED light that can blind me from 50 yards."

Thanks, Surefire, for making a great light.

C2 Makes Big Impact in Thunder Bay
I've carried my SureFire C2 Centurion® every day for over six years now while working as a flight paramedic. It's always by my side, usually in a pocket of my flight suit. I've used it to check for ice on the wings of our plane, for emergency lighting while providing care to a patient inside a smashed vehicle, to guide aircraft in to pick us up from remote scenes, and it has proven invaluable in the back of dark planes, helping to get IVs--sometimes by trans-illuminating the whole hand--into the hands of sick children. The lithium batteries work great--even in the so extreme cold of our northern winters.

I see no need to ever buy another brand of flashlight. My SureFire has to be the best there is.

A2 Photographer
From an artistic standpoint, I use my A2 Aviator® while I'm photographing the city late at night. I use long exposures to get some great shots of the city. With my A2 hanging from my neck on the lanyard, I keep the red LED's constantly on. They don't blow away my night-adapted vision, and I can see what I need to see to get my shots. And the 50 lumens are always, thankfully, on standby.

My experiences may not be tactical, but they're very practical—in helping me to get my photography projects done. Thanks, SureFire.

Good Ergonomics for a Bad Hand
Several years ago I cut a tendon in my left hand, which limits my hand's movement and mobility. When looking for a weapon-mounted light I checked out a Streamlight at a local gun shop. It was very difficult for me to activate the switch for momentary use and keep a good grip on the demo handgun at the same time. So I ordered a Surefire X200® with a remote switch to alleviate this problem.

I am extremely happy with the quality of this light, but even better is the fact that, for momentary use, I only need to push on the remote switch instead of moving the switch on the light up or down. This allows me to use my X200 with no problems. Thank you for a wonderful product!

Supporting the Troops with Customer Service
I am a C-130 Loadmaster, and I was recently deployed to Iraq. On my second flight in Iraq, I was exiting my aircraft when the base we were at came under attack. I dove for cover, landing on my 6P® Original's bezel. The next day, I noticed that the glass window was broken. I fired off an email to SurFire, asking to purchase a new window. All they did was ask for my mailing address, and two weeks later I received a brand-new bezel in the mail.

My 6P has been used every day in rain, dust, and the harsh Middle-Eastern wind without any problems. Thanks for the awesome support, SureFire.

Penlight Packs Punch
I serve as a fulltime firefighter, and a SureFire M2 Centurion® serves as my on-duty carry light. One night my crew and I responded to a medical call, and the home we were looking for did not have house numbers posted in a conspicuous location. So I rolled down the window of the truck and took out my M2 (with its ultra high-output P61 lamp assembly) and started scanning for house numbers. The other firefighter on my crew said, handing me a bright orange Brand X handheld flashlight, "Put your little penlight away and use this." It weighed about seven pounds, roughly 20 times as much as my little M2. I politely declined, giving him a look that made it clear I knew what I was doing. With the aid of my M2, we found the house. It also came in handy providing the EMS crew with enough light to start an I.V. line.

Upon returning to the station, my crewmate said, "Let me see that little flashlight of yours." I handed it to him, and he turned it on, shining it against the wall. "It's really bright," he admitted. I agreed and was just about to tell him not to look directly into the light, when he turned the light around did just that. He immediately dropped the M2 and put his hands up to his eyes. I said, "You're not going to make fun of my little 'penlight' anymore, are you?"

On our next shift, he approached me and said, "Look what I got"--it was a brand new M2. Now, like me, he is never without his M2 (and I suspect he hasn't looked directly into its beam again, either). Thanks for making such a high-quality product. As a firefighter, I have to trust my equipment, especially illumination tools, and Surefire is the only light I trust enough to carry.

Validation When It Counts—in Front of the Wife!
For most of my life I have been fascinated by flashlights—especially SureFires. I carry my E2D regularly and have had great pleasure showing it off to friends and family. After a good demonstration, people are usually quite impressed; however, sometimes I have to deal with people who simply don't understand the inherent beauty and utility of a finely crafted illumination tool—the eye rolling and the "What's the big deal?" commentary from these unfortunate, uninformed folks.

I did, however, prevail when my wife and I had to pass through a security checkpoint at a recent high-profile event. As I approached the table where security personnel were asking people to remove personal items for inspection, I grew concerned that my E2D might raise suspicions and get temporarily confiscated. My wife, who thinks my flashlight interest is silly, had just passed through the checkpoint and was looking on. The armed guard picked up my E2D and, instead of looking at it with concern, said, "Is this a Surefire? Wow, what model is this? These are the greatest! I've got one at home!"

As I passed through the checkpoint, my wife's half-cocked smile made it clear she knew I was going to milk this experience for all it was worth...which I did, relaying the story to all of my friends at the event. It was so satisfying, seeing my wife have to concur repeatedly that I'd indeed had a moment of absolute "flashlight cool." Oh sweet, quite unexpected, validation!

What's Yours is Hers
I bought my wife a G2® Nitrolon® so she would have a compact flashlight as bright as my large work light. My three-year-old fell in love with the G2, and she kept telling me, "Mommy's light is brighter than Daddy's light!" I quickly learned that she was right, so I bought an E2E Executive Elite® for myself. When it arrived, my wife then fell in love with it. Now I am the proud owner of a G2, while my wife carries a brand new E2E.

Thanks for the great products you make.

SureFire Defuses Explosive Situation
I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, and my primary job was to inspect vehicles for explosive devices. My brother sent me a care package containing a SureFire 6P® Original. The flashlights we were issued are standard Maglites, and they were very annoying because of the noticeable rings in their beam. I took my 6P to work and, to my amazement, I spotted what appeared to be a homemade bomb. It later turned out to be a plastic box with some sort of wiring around it, but I would never have even noticed it, using my other light.

After I got back to the States, I ordered a G2® and my definite favorite, a 9P® with an ultra high-output P61 lamp assembly. I also plan on getting an M6® Guardian® soon. I can't believe how much light these things produce.

Thanks, SureFire.

Reliability Is Plenty Exciting
I don't have an exciting blown-up, shot-up, or run-over story about my SureFire, an 8X (since replaced by the 8NX & 8AX) rechargeable, which I still own and use today. I have been carrying this flashlight for 14 proud years. I carry it on my day and night shifts (I'm a corrections officer). I don't leave my house without my 8X, day or night. A flashlight that is 14 years old and this effective, well, what else can I say? Yea!

Uncle Gives Just the Right Gifts
My younger brother just got deployed to Afghanistan last week. Before leaving, he and my father visited my uncle, who lives near the base. My uncle, a retired colonel, said he had a gift for each of them. For my father, he had a G2® Nitrolon®, and for my brother, a C3 Centurion®.

My father brought his G2 home to show me—it is three times brighter than the $50 flashlight I bought a few months ago. And half the size! My brother said he didn't really need another flashlight, as his pack was already full of them. But after turning on the C3, he decided to leave the others behind. He couldn't wait to use his new C3 in the field! I recently spoke with him, and he said his entire troop is jealous of the C3. Apparently, most of them are contacting their families to have one sent to them ASAP.

Thanks, SureFire, for being one of few companies that makes a product that exceeds expectations every time!

The Little Lost Light
This is the story of a little yellow flashlight (G2® Nitrolon®) that lost its way. It begins with two little boys, ages 10 and 13, who used their daddy's light to help do some work under the crawl space of their house. They do a great job, but when they come out from under the house, the yellow light does not come out with them. A search is mounted, but the little yellow light is not found. Everyone fears it is gone for good.

Fast forward eight years. The boys, now 18 and 21, once again go under the house, this time in search of a lost dog. When they come out from under the house, not only do they have the little lost dog, they have the little yellow light that hasn't been seen in nearly a decade, too! After a quick bath and some new batteries, the lost little light works like new. And the owner of the lost yellow light is so grateful that SureFire made such an outstanding tool, he sends in his story to let the world know.

Aviator the Perfect Ranch Companion
Surefire's A2 Aviator® is simply the best handheld light I've ever used. I live on a ranch in western Wyoming, and this product has proven its worth in many different situations.

In the summer and fall, I use the A2 while venturing out into the fields before daybreak to open the head gate on our irrigation system. The soft LED light is perfect for following the trail, and I love the fact I can use the high-output incandescent beam to investigate noises or shapes in the darkness (I found lots of rattlesnakes, deer, and coyotes this way).

The unit's versatility is especially beneficial. My dad and I used the A2 while field dressing my whitetail deer in October. On a recent road trip to New Mexico, my wife used the A2 to locate items in the vehicle while I drove. Its blue LED light didn't affect my night vision the way a brighter, whiter light would have.

Now I take my A2 pretty much everywhere I go. It's great while camping, hunting, or even just messing around in the yard at night. In the winter, when the daylight hours are shorter, I like having the A2 with me when I take hikes. I feel like it adds a certain measure of security, and it's fun to check out all the creatures that are out there.

Quick Return on Tool Investment
A popular SureFire light I ordered was out of stock, so I contacted SureFire customer service to discuss my options. After discussing what I was looking for in a light with a helpful Surefire customer service representative, he suggested that I order an E2E with a KL1 LED head and see if that would meet my needs.

I got the light within two days, and I tried it out on the property that night. I was impressed both with the light's features and the build quality. After I'd had a chance to get familiar with the light, I called SureFire and spoke to the same customer service rep, who was once again very helpful in answering my technical questions.

Last night, my wife and I discovered that our horse was limping badly and unable to stand on one of her hind legs. We managed to coax the horse into the barn, out of a driving wind and rain, and called our vet. While waiting for the vet to arrive, I realized that, since the animal was in such obvious pain, he would have to work on her while she was standing in her stall. When the vet arrived, I shined my new SureFire light on her hoof while he examined her. He found a two-inch nail embedded in the bottom of her hoof. The concentrated LED beam of my light was strong enough in the dark stall to allow the vet to clearly see the entrance wound and evaluate the damage done to the hoof.

I have owned this tool a grand total of three days, and it has already demonstrated why it just may be the best in its class of premium quality lighting tools. This is the quickest return on a tool investment I've ever realized. I'm delighted with the tool's capability and the professional guidance your representative offered to me. I shall continue to use and enjoy ownership of this excellent product. It is a refreshing experience to buy a tool and actually have it live up to its design parameters.

Thanks for taking the time to get this light design right.

Loss of a Good Friend
I got my SureFire 8NX Commander® as a graduation present when I graduated from the police academy. I used the flashlight regularly, as a sheriff's officer and part-time patrolman in a rural NJ town. I also brought the flashlight with me when my National Guard unit was activated after September 11th. On many calls I even loaned my light to firefighters and EMS personnel who needed it.

When I transferred to a bigger police department, I brought my Commander with me. I was the only guy in the department who wasn't using a Stinger flashlight. One night, when I went to get my 8NX out of my gear bag at the station, it was gone. Needless to say, I am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my replacement flashlight (another 8NX), and you can rest assured I will be guarding this one closely.

Flashlights Fine, But He’d Rather Go Buy Rail
Yeah, your lights are great , but let’s hear about the other products.

All I can say is.....wow! Your M73 Picatinny Rail Forend is the best out there. I did my shopping and compared all of the available hand guards out there. I cannot say enough about your "M" model. By far this is the best engineered device I've ever seen!

When it arrived and I saw how the M73 mounted on the weapon, I was beside myself. I have never been so pleased with an "Attachment" than I am with your M73 Forend. The engineering of it has surpassed all out there. I am in no way showing favorites....This is just the truth. Yours attaches in such a way that it doesn't move one centimeter at all. The M73 is rock solid, lets the muzzle breathe, and with the lower front end (at the 'six' position) being a half inch longer, my bi-pod takes up less real estate on my weapon.

I have bragged about your "M" series to all my "Black Rifle" buddies out there! Keep up the great work SureFire!

Your very satisfied customer,

After receiving my G2 Nitrolon I was astonished
Being a college student and rather tight with money, I was somewhat hesitant to spend $36 on a flashlight company's cheapest model, but after years of using inferior Maglites and Wal-Mart specials, I was quite ready to try something new. So I took the plunge. Well, after receiving my G2 Nitrolon® in the mail I was astonished, to say the least. Its workmanship and beam quality had such an impact on me that the next day I ordered over $400 worth of your higher-end models for myself and family members. Now that is what I call a good first impression!

Thank you SureFire for making the finest illumination tools on the market.

Why did I spend all that money on the other light…
Your lights are perfect for work and play! I've collected a number of flashlights over the years, but only a few get to work and play with me, and SureFire has now captured that spot! In my career as an Engineer for the DOD, I've working on repairing ships to construction to base operations. I've carried a number of lights, but was always changing them to find a balance between output, weight, size, carry options, and more importantly how the light feels in your hand and how well you can hold on to it when you're "really working". After finding the E1E Executive Elite my search ended. I've sewn a loop on my different multi-tool cases to accommodate my E1E to allow me to carry it during my normal work day. I recently added an E2D Executive Defender to my work/hunting belt.

Here’s where that investment really paid off: In my current job, I'm on on-call 24/7. I really tested the capability of my E2D during the repair of a couple of water line breaks. In the first, we had a vehicle hit-and-run a fire hydrant in an isolated part of my base. When I got on site, I automatically reached for my cell Maglite behind the driver seat in my truck (where I keep it for other duties too). I was shining the less-than-perfect Maglite beam into my new 3' deep murky jacuzzi surrounding the hydrant looking for the damage and saw...lighted murky water. I scratched my head for a moment and then remembered that I packed my E2D when I left the house as a backup. When I turned it on, not only was I able to see the bottom of the pool and the damage, but my co-workers were asking to see the E2D. I also used it on another water line repair when our portable generator failed and we had no work lights. I used the E2d to light up the trench for the backhoe and my crew working to repair the line. My E2D can even do the "other duties" that were set aside for the 5-cell Maglite!

Now, I think back and wonder: "why did I spend all that money on the other light? I should have just used it to purchase a Surefire and accessories!" May my lessons-learned be your guide to purchasing the best lights you can own! Oh, did I also mention that I bought a KL-1 LED head and color filters that work on both E1 and E2D, and I interchange parts between my E1E and E2D? With different lamp options, talk about lights that are able to do everything! Thanks Surefire!!

I told him it was nuclear powered...
My first experience with a Surefire product happened over 10 years ago. I was working at a state prison on first watch (12 am to 8 am). My partner that night showed up with a 6P™ Original Surefire flashlight. He wasted no time in showing it to me, and I was impressed. At 1 am, when I went to take the first count of the night, my partner said that I could use his 6P so that I could try it out. At the time my work light was a 2-D-cell Maglite. The difference in light output between the two lights was nothing short of amazing.

When me and my partner arrived on the third tier, an inmate was awake and he commented on the brightness of the flashlight I was using. Being somewhat of a joker, I told him that we were trying out a new type of flashlight for the government and it was nuclear powered, that was why it was so bright. Well, the inmate bought it and said that the state should buy all the officers bright nuclear flashlights.

When we finished the count we had a good laugh and I reluctantly gave my partner back his Surefire. The next day I RAN out and bought my own 6P. I now own 4 Surefire flashlights, and I never go anywhere without one on my person, and a loaner in the car.

My U2 Ultra never leaves my side…
Just wanted to let you guys know how much I love my Surefire lights. I started off with the A2 thinking I was insane for spending over $200 for a flashlight, but boy was I wrong! Within moments of turning on my A2, I realized it was money well spent, and a week later I bought a U2 Ultra, which never leaves my side.

I work nights hauling liquid nitrogen and oxygen and depending on the task at hand I need different amounts of light. When I'm reading a LCD meter, too much power washes out the readings, so I set the U2's adjustable setting to low. When I'm inspecting my truck or scoping out a dark delivery area, I have the U2 set on high. ]

I've dropped my U2 several times and it shows no signs of wear at all. My company gave us "police style" flashlights made by another major manufacturer a few weeks back, and I just had to laugh at the build quality and the performance (or lack of it). Needless to say, that light is still sitting in my locker collecting dust while my U2 is my light of choice. My U2 is also the only light that, when people see me using it, they walk up to me and ask me what kind of light I am using. I let them try it out and direct them to this site so they can get their own.

Thanks Surefire for making my job much safer, easier, and brighter!

Bouncer Brother Boasts
I used to work with my brother at a night club in NYC. While I worked there, I used the Streamlight Scorpion and Inova lights, which continually broke or ran dead. All the other bouncers used big D-cell "baseball bat" style lights, and were never really impressed with the smaller LED lights.

I have since moved from NYC to Florida. The last birthday gift I gave my brother, who still lives in NYC and works as a bouncer at a club, was a SureFire E2E Executive Elite®. I recently got a message on my cell phone saying: "Dude, you're awesome! You should be a retailer — I just got 13 requests for SureFire lights from the bouncers here. Once the night started, and I showed everybody my new gift, I had to hold on to it with a death grip. Everybody kept testing the thing out all night, so I barley got to use it. Now the club owner is buying a set of lights for everybody here. You have changed the way we work from 2,000 miles away. Rock and roll, brother!"

Thank you, Surefire, for making gift giving as simple as pointing at one of your flashlights on SureFire.com and clicking "buy."

The Right Tool for the Right Job
In September of 2000, I had the unfortunate tragedy of losing my first wife to cancer after a two-year struggle. She was only 47 at the time, and we had a 13-year-old son together. I am a law enforcement officer, and at the time I was still in a squad, working three shifts. Needless to say, it was difficult to find ways to assure my son that he was safe when I left the house.

One thing I did to help reassure him was give him my SureFire C2 Centurion to keep on his bedside nightstand the nights I was at work throughout the night. I explained to him that these were the best tools for law-enforcement officers in dark places and in low-light conditions. I also explained the tactical advantages of an intense white light when searching for things that go bump in the night.

Well, he's had that light for six yeas now, and now he's 19. Wherever he goes, so does his C2. I can't get it back now, and I don't plan to ask for it; I've moved on to another SureFire light for duty. Certainly a flashlight could never replace his mom, but I know that it provided a sense of self protection and perhaps even a sense of control during a period when life seemed so out of control for him. The C2 will likely remain with him the rest of his life, and to this day I still find it at his bedside every night.

For me, Surefire will always remain more than an illumination tool. It's more like a family thing. Thanks for providing me with just the right tool at just the right moment.

I quickly reversed my decision and bought a 9P…
Ten years ago I bought my first Surefire flashlights, a 6P™ Original and a 9P™ Original. When a good friend recommended a Streamlight Stinger rechargeable/Scorpion that were comparable with the SureFires, I bit and purchased the Streamlights and sold the Surefires to another friend.

After a while, I was not happy with my new purchases. The Streamlight Stinger had a very short light life that was not acceptable and the quality wasn't there (battery memory and light shadows and output). The Scorpion was bright, but wasn't substantial (weight) and the light has a "halo" effect at night with shadows. I quickly reversed my decision and bought a 9P to be my primary flashlight and since then to now, I have purchased a 6P, FOUR 9Ps, a kick-butt M6, and upgraded bulbs along with numerous batteries and holsters. By the way, the so-called backup rechargeable batteries (replaced twice!) in the Streamlight flashlights have died and the charger is not working at this time.

Thanks Surefire for the quality and commitment to excellence, and I will never make that mistake again!

A SureFire for All Occasions
I love my SureFire flashlights. I'm a service person for my local water utility company and use my lights everyday. We're constantly going into dark basements and working in areas with little or no light. I first realized I needed a good light when our company handed me the "flashlight" that is standard equipment for the company. It was a cheap no-name light that throws out a dull, yellowish light. I started shopping around online and thanks goodness I found SureFire. My first light was the G2 Nitrolon. I was amazed. I could drive down the street at night, looking for house numbers with nothing but my little G2. Wow. Catching the Surefire bug I next purchased the A2 which seemed more suited to my job. I can use the low lumen LED for close up work and still have the incandescent for far away searching or when I need to light up a situation. I was under a house one day looking for a meter and the incandescent went out on my A2 due to low battery. No problem, I just switched to the LED mode and still had enough light to finish my job and get back out to safety. My fellow workers are impressed. When I'm working with them they bypass the flashlight the company gave them and always ask for my powerful little light. Thanks SureFire for making my job so much easier

SureFire Shames Competition on Safari
I was hunting big game in Africa, back in the 1990's, and we were after a leopard but having no luck, so we enlisted the help of a local landowner, who assured us he could put us on to some big cats. At the beginning of the hunt, I'd given my guide a SureFire 9P® Original, two spare bulbs, and a dozen SureFire batteries as a gift. Good gear and extras are the best gifts, especially in this part of the world where such things are needed and very hard to find.

After staking out a leopard's den in the middle of the night for several hours, with no luck, we decided to call it a night and head back to our land rover. The landowner wanted to show us his brand-new flashlight, an aluminum-bodied, five-D-cell brand that starts with an "M," ends with a "G," and has a vowel in the middle. He'd bought it in South Africa and had paid a lot for it, as the import duties are very high there. Proudly, he turned it on to show us how bright it was and how far the beam shined. My guide, equally proud of his new SureFire, which was a fraction of the size of the landowner's torch, turned on the 9P. His SureFire was so much brighter and had such a solid beam that the landowner turned his off in disgust. Then, to add insult to injury, my guide said, "The best gifts come in small packages—even when it comes to flashlights." Words can't describe the disgusted, embarrassed look on the landowner's face. I thought he was going to throw that light into the bush right then and there.

Easy Money
My friends were bugging me for carrying around my SureFire flashlight all the time, so I bet them twenty bucks they couldn't keep their eyes open for more than five seconds while I shined it in their eyes. Not one of them lasted more than two seconds. I let them keep their money, and I haven't been bugged about carrying a flashlight around since.

Thanks, SureFire, for making such impressive products.

World's Finest Illumination Tools—and Catalogs!
I recently purchased a P60L LED Assembly for my Z2 CombatLight®, my favorite flashlight (I also have an L2 and a 9P®), and it is everything I hoped it would be. I was also recently perusing your website, when I discovered that the 2008 catalogs could be downloaded as PDF files. It was like an unexpected birthday present.

With every turn of the page of these catalogs, I wanted what was on the page. I was especially excited about the upcoming P61L LED Assembly, the UA2 Optimus™, and the UB2 Invictus™. I'm still undecided about which to get, but I'm definitely leaning towards the Invictus. I know that SureFire always strives for constant improvements, but I never thought you would jump so far ahead, so quickly, of yourselves and the competition...if you can even call any of the other flashlight manufacturers that.

Heavenly Visions
This story demonstrates just how much of a "flashaholic" I truly am. Two weeks ago, on a Saturday night, I began having terrible chest pains and some other symptoms that concerned me. My son drove me to the hospital emergency room, where they determined that I was in the initial stages of a heart attack. While they were administering tests, my systems began shutting down, and I went into a coma. Asleep and near death, I saw the proverbial bright light at the end of the tunnel that everyone talks about. But as I drew closer, I realized it was the UPS guy shining my new SureFire UA2 Optimus.

When the physicians and nurses finished working their magic on me, I awoke in the intensive care unit. I was glad to be alive, but man was I upset that it was too early to be receiving a SureFire UA2, which isn't out yet. I asked the nurse to hand me my jacket, and I fished my L1 LumaMax® out of a pocket—it would have to do until I get my Optimus.

I'm back at home and doing much better now. I've got a new 2008 SureFire calendar, and I'm marking off the days, anticipating when I can order my new SureFire UA2 Optimus. Life is good, and it's great to be a SureFire enthusiast.

SureFire Makes Lasting Impression on Employees
I've been working in a warehouse complex that sells commercial and industrial supplies for going on 20 years now. During that time, we've had quite a few power failures, blackouts, brownouts, and falling power lines that have darkened the facility. Every time the lights went out I would break out my personal pair of SureFire 9P® Originals and pass them out to management to get personnel around sharp corners, past conveyer belts, up steep stairs, down aisles of shelving that can stretch for hundreds of feet, and out to safety. After the lights would come back on, I'd always hear comments like, "That's one heck of a flashlight—who makes it?" My reply: "The best—SureFire."

Fast forward to 2007, when management launched a program to find out why the people in our warehouse are so dedicated, hard working, and customer friendly. Every worker had to write a letter about their experiences that impacted them positively, and all of the letters were posted on the wall for everyone to read. Several of the letters commented on the blackouts and the supervisors with powerful flashlights escorting them to safety. As I read the stories, I recognized that the true credit for those memories goes to SureFire.

Thanks for making a quality product that I depend on day in and day out without fail. And for making me look good.

Non-Conductive & Easy on the Teeth
I restore vintage audio equipment, particularly old tube amplifiers. Because these old components need constant tending to, I'm always pulling one down off the rack or out of its working environment. My flashlight is as important to me as any other tool in my kit in doing this work. Previously I had to be uber-concerned about dropping my old metal flashlight. One slip and that light could've crashed through a tube and possibly shorted a connection running 400-600 VDC across it; scary, expensive, and possibly deadly. Plus, when my hands were busy, I could never hold that old light in my mouth for a close look at my connection terminals without chipping a tooth.

Recently I picked up one of your G2® Nitrolon® lights. This little guy has seriously changed my life. The non-conductive polymer body eliminates my fear of electrocution and toasting my transformers. And the light is lightweight enough to hold in my mouth for a decent amount of time—and no more worries about chipping my teeth. It's not often that a new tool has that kind of "wow" factor, but the G2 has it in spades.

A Ketchup Popsicle?
I bought a G2® Nitrolon® back in 2003 on the recommendation of one of my law enforcement instructors. At the time, many of my classmates were fans of the high-priced, rechargeable lights made by "the other guys," but a G2 was about the only sensible option for my budget. Now, five years later, I've been using that same light on the job ever since, and it has yet to meet another light that it can't stand toe-to-toe with. I've probably sold so many G2s that I should get a commission. They are easier to sell than bleach to a lady in white gloves holding a ketchup popsicle.

I've yet to stare down a rabid, snarling beast with my flashlight, but it has been with me through thick and thin for half a decade and still looks and performs like new. Besides, it lets me know where any critters are before I need to blast them in the eyes. I was looking at the site today, because I was talking to a coworker about my light and wanted to make sure my facts were right, when I started reading some testimonials about the G2 LED. I'd seen one at my local retailer and was skeptical, but after reading the positive testimonials, I'm convinced. I am going to buy a P60L conversion LED assembly the next chance I get. You've made a customer for life.

Selling Seller's Spouse
As a security officer and an EMT, I need a good light that will hold up to the rigors of daily life. I recently picked up a 6P® LED from a local gun shop, and, when I went to pay for it, the owner's wife asked why SureFire lights were so popular and cost more than other brands. I simply replied, "Because they're the best damn lights out there—period." The owner's response was, "I couldn't have said it any better."

Thanks for making awesome products that constantly beg for attention and turn heads wherever I go.
