  • SureFire Keeps Stealth Operation That Way
On a classified Special Ops assignment, my buddy was "point," leading his squad through a 36-inch, corrugated steel culvert under a road heavily traveled by the enemy. As he and his squad crawled through it, my friend, a highly trained and experienced commando, suddenly stopped, sensing something wrong. He turned on the low setting of the SureFire L1 LumaMax® I'd given him for his birthday just before the mission. There, not more than three feet in front of him, was a coiled, six-foot rattlesnake.

My pal had come within inches of planting his hand on the snake, and he and his squad were a long way from medical attention. He quickly dispatched of the dangerous snake with his SureFire Delta Fixed knife, handling the situation without compromising the squad's position by firing shots. And thanks to the low setting on his two-stage L1, the enemy couldn't see any illumination from the culvert. He and his squad went on to successfully complete their mission.

As a retired member of a major metropolitan police SWAT team, I am totally sold on SureFire - and now so is my buddy. SureFire products are proven lifesavers.

  • SureFire Illuminates Treacherous Tibetan Road
We were heading out to a rural village on the Tibetan Plateau (altitude approximately 14,000 feet) in our Chinese jeep to conduct some village doctor training. By nightfall, still several hours from our destination, the alternator died. So we were forced to cut the lights and drive by starlight (it was a moonless night) in order to conserve enough battery power to run the sparkplugs. As the road wound through a tortuous mountain pass, we slowed to a snail's pace. While the driver struggled to see the way up ahead, I pulled out my SureFire L1 Digital LumaMax® and we all breathed a sigh of relief. We could easily see the winding curves of the dirt road as we descended to the valley floor. That LumaMax was the only thing that got us safely down from that mountain pass!

  • Increased Light Output Increases Work Output
I work at the only major commercial airline maker in the US, and I help build well-known commercial jets that most of you have flown on. The 2-D flashlights the company provides are a joke — even with brand new batteries. Their output is extremely low, and they’re bulky to use while trying to do several things at once.

I ditched the company-issued lights and now I use my SureFire L1 LumaMax® everyday. This helps me see what I’m doing when I’m drilling and makes it possible to see into the nooks and crannies to make sure everything is okay before putting my work up for inspection. The clip also comes in handy when I need to clip it to the bill of my cap for hands-free operation.

Since using my L1 at work, my jobs get done faster, I have less to rework, and my job is easier.
