The new LED light for my Surefire is very bright and has dramatically increased the battery life. I use it daily with extended burn time in attic and crawl spaces.

Works great but overpriced
I was very happy with my KX4 conversion when I first installed it. I was looking for a extremely bright and long life beam and I liked the specs of the KX4. It seemed quite pricey but I was happy with my previous SureFire lights and assumed that was the price of entry for a 120 lumens light. A few days after I received my KX4 I noticed that Home Depot sells a 212 lumen flashlight that uses alkaline batteries for <$50. Even though the SureFire quality is likely higher, I felt duped paying so much for 120 lumens.

Used this conversion to upgrade my old, old G2Z from incandescent to Led. Instead of new batts every 20 mins from a comparatively much less powerful bulb, I get 2-3 hours...big gain in power, big savings in dollars. As one whose life literally depends on my Surefires, the price is worth it. How much is your LIFE worth? On the two occasions, over 20 years, that two overworked caps stopped working, Surefire never whined, sniveled, or complained. I wrote them, they sent me replacements. Period. End of story. As a secure voice radio, rucksack humping Screaming Eagle in Vietnam on both my tours, I would have paid $500 each for an iPhone 5, two Surefires, and counted myself fortunate when I had to change codes every zero dark thirty zulu on the KY38. Surefire, thanks, no complaints, whining or sniveling. well done and carry on. My life is worth your gear and I have two EDC Surefires, as well as 2 handguns. Redundant safety equipment. KX4 LED Conversion Head
Bought this light to replace the P61 bulbs I had been using in my light. The new light is brighter, consumes less battery life than the old incandescent, which is important to me given the cost of the batteries. Not a cheap fix to improve P61 performance parameters but a good long term investment if you plan to keep your light like I do.

Simple but Expensive Upgrade
The KX4 LED conversion head conversion was simple and straightforward and resulted in a flashlight that is considerably brighter with a noticeably reduced consumption of batteries. The quality and craftsmanship are first-rate but at $85.00, I had every right to expect it. I would have purchased and installed the conversion kit a long time ago but it took me several months to convince myself that it was worth it to spend $85.00 to upgrade to my existing flashlight versus buying a competitors complete new flashlight for a lesser price.

If you need extra light to see into small recesses or in daylight this is the light for you. Normal lights wash out in sunlight, not this one. Ever try to check battery fluid in your car in daylight. It is very difficult. With this light it is a snap. I use it when working on small mechanical devices. I can pick out part numbers and detect hidden problems. I almost didn't buy it because of the cost but after using it in my shop; I wouldn't be without it.

I am disappoint in the LED light. My light with the original bulb was bright and reliable , after buying the LED it would not always work. I had to play with it, and take it apart and bend and clean the contacts. I still have the light, but I bought a new (different brand) light that I carry everyday for work.
