- KX4 LED conversion
I have been a Sure Fire user since way back. Several years ago Sure Fire had a LED conversion for 6P and Nitrolon that I used. It (the previous model) had a tighter beam and not as much spill-over to the side of the beam.
The new KX4 has a very bright beam and out about 30 feet it seems like a flood pattern not a spot. In fog and smoke this scatter is very annoying and makes it hard to see at distance.
I do like the fact that my red & blue filters will fit the KX4 where that didn't fit the previous model LED head.
Thanks Sure Fire for making a bullet proof LED for the Nitrolon lights. If you ever make a tighter beam pattern for these lights I will upgrade.

Very bright light and a significant improvement over the P60 bulb. Seems to be overpriced for long time customers but otherwise great.

Works really great, However it is really over priced. I the original light only costs $59.00 dollars then the new light is $99.00 dolars when all is said and done! if there is a next time that this light goes out I will not replace it with another bulb! I will buy a different light that is lower cost.

- Surefire flashlights and KX4 LED
When you need one, nothing beats a good flashlight. I bought my first Surefire flashlights with incandescent bulbs, but when I tried out the LED, I was sold immediately, and I replaced my incandescent bulbs with LED. The light is very white and intense, and when tested against an incandescent bulb there is no comparison.
I wish I could tel you how long an LED lasts, but I haven't burned one out yet.
The company Surefire is very professional and delivers what they promise. I have never had a problem.

The new LED light for my Surefire is very bright and has dramatically increased the battery life. I use it daily with extended burn time in attic and crawl spaces.

- Works great but overpriced
I was very happy with my KX4 conversion when I first installed it. I was looking for a extremely bright and long life beam and I liked the specs of the KX4. It seemed quite pricey but I was happy with my previous SureFire lights and assumed that was the price of entry for a 120 lumens light. A few days after I received my KX4 I noticed that Home Depot sells a 212 lumen flashlight that uses alkaline batteries for <$50. Even though the SureFire quality is likely higher, I felt duped paying so much for 120 lumens.

- KX4 Conversion
Used this conversion to upgrade my old, old G2Z from incandescent to Led. Instead of new batts every 20 mins from a comparatively much less powerful bulb, I get 2-3 hours...big gain in power, big savings in dollars. As one whose life literally depends on my Surefires, the price is worth it. How much is your LIFE worth? On the two occasions, over 20 years, that two overworked caps stopped working, Surefire never whined, sniveled, or complained. I wrote them, they sent me replacements. Period. End of story. As a secure voice radio, rucksack humping Screaming Eagle in Vietnam on both my tours, I would have paid $500 each for an iPhone 5, two Surefires, and counted myself fortunate when I had to change codes every zero dark thirty zulu on the KY38. Surefire, thanks, no complaints, whining or sniveling. well done and carry on. My life is worth your gear and I have two EDC Surefires, as well as 2 handguns. Redundant safety equipment.
