What is the Tactical Trinity?
SureFire has built innovative tactical illumination tools for military and law enforcement use for over three decades, and has been deeply involved in improving related low-light tactics for nearly as long. One result is the formulation of the Tactical Trinity system. Simply put, it holds that law enforcement personnel need a minimum of three tactical lights to consistently and safely perform the core tactical functions of identifying threats, disorienting opponents, and illuminating targets in the field.

These three lights are: (1) A primary light, which must be compact, fit in an easily accessed quick-draw holster, and produce tactical* light; (2) a backup light, which must be ultra compact but also generate tactical light; and (3) a WeaponLight, which must produce overwhelming tactical output, offer practical, ergonomic switching options, and be extremely reliable.

* SureFire defines tactical light output to be 50 lumens or greater.
