This is a great product. Very tough and durable. The colored lens covers and the ability to control the amount of light (not just on or off - but any degree in between) makes this a great product for use in lowlight, rural operations.

This is the best headlight I have ever tried. Being a disabled vet and retired professional soldier, I can be very picky about my life support gear. I have 5 busted vertebra up between my shoulder blades. This lightweight lamp causes me NO discomfort whatsoever and I have worn it for 8 straight hours. It is a tough piece of gear and well worth the money. Comfortable to wear and very convenient in terms of it's adjustable light range. Have used it at night which allows me to maintain balance and let's me use my handheld lights to check more distant points of interest...goblins, parking lots, etc. Eardruns busted close to 10 times each side...makes me hit the ground without a clear focal point. My Surefires keep me up and mobile. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Disregard what you may have read previously. The Minimus Tactical Headlamp is by far the best hands free light I ever acquired. It is small, well built, rugged, easy to operate and a true blessing. I see that some complained about the 123 Batteries consumption, and naturally to get the most out of this excellent tac light, I highly recommend rechargeable batteries available here:
Quite simply, this is the most amazing combination of gear. If you have access to electricity (like within an MRAP, or a HMMWV using a battery inverter), you can quickly recharge your 123s and carry on with the plan of the day unhindered. If you want the best, look no further. In my humble opinion, the Surefire Minimus takes the prize hands down, with Petzl and other brands behind.

it is a great light but it seems to overheat quickly on high and also the batteries do not last long at all. I still like it do to the light output the comfort and adjustability I also like the warranty for this product.

I have used this headlight almost daily since I got it. It replaced a cheap big box store one that worked ok, but just didn't have the light output I was looking for. I already owned a Surefire X300a weapon light that I loved, so even though this light was more expensive than most, I knew it would be worth the price and I was not disappointed. This light gets the job done! The light output is amazing! It's also extremely comfortable with the supplied head pad. I can't see myself ever using another light after this one. Worth every penny! Thanks Surefire for a great product!

Not sure exactly why, but both my sure fire lights, including this headland are having the same issue. I put a brand new battery, use for a few minutes, turn it off, and then try again in a few days to find out the battery is dead. Fully charged or new batteries - check. Triple check the light is off - check. Dead batteries with 0 usage over and over again - check.

Purchased this during my last deployment to Afghanistan. Head lamp is the best I have ever had, worth every penny. I've had several different headlamps and none give out the light nor the usefulness of this one. I thought it would be heavy while in my head, but I forgot it was on my head after I turned it off. I was on a COP in Afghanistan and after using it the first week, half of my platoon went and ordered there's.
