My father was an employee of the NY Port Authority during the terrorist bombing of the WTC in 1993. One of his duties was to do visual inspections of cables and wiring so he always carried a small pocket flashlight to shine into tunnels and air ducts.
When the bomb went off, it rendered the elevators useless, of course, and filled every floor and stairwell with thick, sooty smoke. From the 70+ floor where he got stranded, he was able to lead a group of people out of the building to safety with his modest little mini-Mag.
From my father's experience, I took to heart that EDC's can literally save your a*#, and as such, you should have the very best quality of every item that makes the cut to your pocket or bag. The G2X is my choice for an EDC flashlight. It's not THE smallest or brightest light out there, but it's small and versatile enough to earn its space. The 15-lumen low beam is great for walking a dog or looking under your couch, the 320-lumens of the high setting are astoundingly bright--enough to stun-blind someone who may be attempting to do you harm. The very affordable (for a Surefire) pricepoint of the G2X, in conjunction with its exceptional features, warrants anyone's serious consideration. Even if you don't include a flashlight in your EDC, get one to throw in your glove compartment or emergency kit. The 10 year lithium batteries will allow it to perform as engineered even if you set-and-forget. And you'll be very happy indeed that at least you have a bright, durable and reliable flashlight at hand when you REALLY need it.

This is the the Surefire flashlight with the optimum features for a reasonable price. Quite bright when you need it and on the lower setting not, when you don't. Convenient comfortable size for anywhere.

I have older G2's prior to the recessed click tail cap. The ability to activate the light for momentary or constant without having to turn the rear cap is very handy. I also appreciate the 320 lumens over the older 200.
This is a very robust, bright light, with an excellent beam at a great price.

I got to say this is a great light. I use it all day and night. I work as a mechanic by day and walk my dog at night. This light has never failed me after a year of use. I have went through a box of batteries but that's not bad considering how much I use it. I think I'm going to get another two or three of them. at least one for the car.

I've owned a number of the SureFire flash lights. Best darn flash light ever made. The problem I seem to have is every so often it grows legs and runs away. Even though I purchase lanyards they still seem to get away from me. All kidding aside, I love their products and am a firm believer you get what you pay for. I use them day in and day out. So much I wore out and requested a replacement switch fully expecting to pay for it. To my surprise and delight I received one in the mail in a couple of days at "NO CHARGE". Now thats what I call a great company that stands behind their product. Hands down, the best.

I have a few SureFire Lights , all have been very reliable and have held up to the demands of every day use on construction sites . This recent purchase was a gift for a young lady that works long hours , and has to walk to her car in less then ideal surroundings ! She reports that the alley that she must use to get from her building to her car is very well illuminated by her new G2X Pro ! I feel this is a great model to give to your loved ones / those you care about, and emphasize the importance to always have it with them ! Thank you SUREFIRE !

The G2X Pro is a compact yet powerful polymer-body flashlight that uses a high-efficiency LEDvirtually immune to failure since there's no filament to burn out or breakto provide two light output levels: a brilliant, penetrating, perfectly pre-focused 320-lumen beam, and a 15-lumen low-output setting that lets you greatly extend the runtime per set of batteries, an invaluable option when you find yourself miles from civilization. Press the tailcap switch for momentary-on low, press further to click constant-on low, return to off and press or click on again within two seconds for high. The tough Nitrolon® polymer body is smoothly sculpted for a comfortable, secure grip and resists scratches, abrasion, and corrosion. A polycarbonate micro-textured reflector delivers a comparatively wider beam with generous peripheral light. We also make an aerospace aluminum-body version of this light, the 6PX Pro, and a single-output version with a tactical tailcap switch, the G2X Tactical.
