- Use it daily to save the night
E2D LED defender is there at my arm's length every night. I have twin toddlers that loose their pacifiers from 1 to 10 times a night each. If you a parent you know what this means. The red filter (F05) and the lowest power output works perfectly helping me to immediately find it next to them, under the bed or even across the room in seconds without waking the other baby. Something I wanted to use for EDC is now a baby gear... I am considering buying another one as I can't accept a risk of loosing it :)

- E2D LED Defender
Primary light of my two Surefire EDC lights. Other is the E1B. Love them both. In my 24 year military career, 20 overseas, I have had ear drums busted too many times. Without light in dark areas or night, I have the balance of a drunk on a skateboard. Not good! With Surefire, I keep moving upright. Whether checking on my 100 pound German Shepherd Gunner in his big box or lighting up backyard or parking lot, or creeping to bathroom in middle of night without stepping on cat or stumbling. or, worse, waking wife, I always have the right light level. I am glad it does not have a strobe...bought light with strobe...in dark with my disabilities, I lost all balance. Ha, was funny, actually. Gave that one to son. Perfect light, great company. Thanks!

- Definitely Does the Job
Needed a small light to carry at work and also at home when taking the dogs out at night, one that would let me see a long way, and this one does the job. First night I used it I was able to see things that would not have shown up using my other flashlight, so it is outstanding for its size and weight. Also has a great design if you need to use it and the small size makes it convenient to carry everywhere.

- Works great
This flashlight definitely gets the job done. Hopefully I never have to use the other function.

The above light works great but I also have a handheld Surefire light that stopped working. The push button on the end seems not to work. Any suggestions?

- Why you will want one
Surefire makes great lights, but the E2D LED is an outstanding example of a defensive flashlight. It is amazingly light and easy to conceal. It has nice serrations around the front and tail cap, which make it nice for striking. The tail cap has pseudo flats so it won't roll and the clip has a raised tang so a strap could be mounted to it. All in all, one great light and I don't leave home without it.

- Great Value with significant disadvantages
This flashlight is bombproof through and through. I have carried this flashlight almost everyday for the last year and a half and it has survived all the abuse I can throw at it and then some. The "operating system" as in how the flashlight works when you initially turn it on (300 lumens) and then turn it on a second time (5 lumens) is great and convenience for edc self-defense use as well as normal use. My frustration is that you con ONLY use Surefire's expensive batteries in this flashlight as well as the fact that every other flashlight on the market has a strobe option/setting. These two disadvantages are enough to make me a one-time customer for Surefire. They constantly release a new and improved product as soon as I purchase one of their products. I did own a weapon light and sold that as well... same complaint with the batteries.

A great light. Typical Surefire build quality, convenient size for my hands, easy to use. The newer 500 lumen version does have my eye though!

- Damn good flashlight
I've had it for over 6 months and so far so good. Don't even feel it when it's on you but is comfortable in my hand.
