Four-Legged Encounters
Most animals can see clearer, hear further, run faster, and smell better than humans. But they're no match for the blinding light of a SureFire.
| SureFire Even Impresses Teenagers |
I was recently on vacation in Cancun, and while my wife soaked up the resort, I caught a ride to Chichen Itza. One of the buildings that fascinated me most was the "Nunnery," but there was no lighting inside and it was very dark. You could only see the daylight from the door on the other side of the building.
As I stepped into the second room, there was a mom getting frustrated with her two young teenage daughters who were begging her to let them go into a dark side tunnel passage that was nothing more than a dark hole. But the mother was adamant that she didn’t want them to go. The oldest daughter had her hand out, ready to grab a barely visible ledge, and was poised to step down into the passageway, when I spoke up and told them that I had flashlight. I dug into my pack and pulled out my SureFire L2 Lumamax™, and the girls were thrilled. I turned it on and pointed it down the passageway, and there on the ledge, where the oldest girl had her hand poised and ready to grab, was the biggest, blackest scorpion I've ever seen. As it ran up the wall and into a crack, the girls squealed about how it was “Soooo cool.” Mom just looked like she was going to pass out.
After the excitement died down, I took the girls down a couple of the passageways and looked into other rooms. The L2 gave the girls something to remember and cool stories to tell their friends. Mom was just happy they got to see the building without any medical emergencies. Just one more reason why my L2 gets carried regularly.
