I am a Chinese student and attend college in my hometown of Zengzhou. Last December, my friends and I decided to climb a mountain near Dengfeng City. I took my G2® Nitrolon® and some extra batteries, three pieces of CR123 batteries. About 7 p.m., we arrived and started our way up the mountain. Our mobile phones lost their signals, and even our GPS unit wasn't working very well.
The next morning, we woke up and, when we stepped out of our tents, we were surprised by falling snow and a blanket of heavy white covering the mountain and the roads. After assessing the situation, we decided to make our way off of the mountain, but at 8 p.m. that night, we were still on the mountain. I heard some noise in my pocket, indicating that my mobile phone was finally getting a signal, so I immediately called my father to tell him we were trapped on the mountain.
An hour later, my father called to tell me the police were looking for us, but they couldn't see anything on the mountain through the heavy snow. So I took out my SureFire G2 and turned it on. The powerful beam cut through the night sky and snow like a knife. At 11 p.m., the police finally found us. They told me they saw the light beam and raced straight for it. They also told me that, if I hadn't had that bright light, my friends and I would've surely died that night.
My friends and I can't thank you enough, SureFire.
