| Blinded by the Light |
After having wonderful success with a G2® model that I'd received for Christmas, I decided to purchase a G3® to use as a weapon light on my AR-15. After installing a quad rail, the G3, a vertical grip, and an EOtech, I was testing out the new rig in my living room.
My roommate came home and asked if could check out the new upgrades, so I handed over the rifle. He promptly began to impersonate tactical drills in the house and wanted to see how the sights lined up. We have a huge 3' x 5' mirror in our living room, and, as he lined up the sights on his reflection, he decided to activate the G3. He immediately screeched as the 105 lumens of tactical-level light reflected directly back at him. I, of course, doubled over, laughing. ôMan, this thing is bright!" he said. ôAll I see is a green blob." He was stunned and disoriented, for sure, which is exactly what I want when it comes down to me and a bad guy.
Thanks for making a great product, SureFire. One that I now know, for sure, will temporarily blind and disorient an attacker in the moment of need—or a roommate who isn't aware of how mirrors work.
