- what does the P stand for?
i love surefire and once i saw this light, i had to have it, took it on a weekend retreat with some friends, we compared this light to my friends searchlight from another reputable company that boasted his light at over 4000 lumen and let me tell you, it was almost the same except for the fact i can put my light in my pocket and he has to have a case and a seperate battery pack. this light is for anyone is a ... camper, hiker, outdoorsman, edc prepper, cop, fireman, boy, girl, baby, 90 year old, seriously this light kicks [censored].

Nice light. Unbelievably bright! First nick put on it was from a two foot fall from my end table onto my brick fireplace base. Disappointed that it nicked so easily but it must have landed just right on edge of the brick. The second click to activate the constant on takes a lot of pressure especially using off hand. This should be improved for greater one hand use. I like the features idea because my other SureFire lights require two hands for constant on. I purchased two of these defender lights, one for myself and the other for my daughter's boyfriend. He's an EMT and Firefighter and I thought the one hand constant on feature would be useful for him. Also got him the defender model due to all the 51/50s he has to deal with.

6PX Defender is no doubt and excellent light. It's ergonomics work well within pistol-craft frame work. I carry it everyday with confidence and highly recommend Surefire products.

- 6PX Defend
This is my 3rd Defender My first was aNRA defender which was great at the time but I went through batteries like crazy I then purchased the E2D lED what a improvement with high and low beam much improved tail cap. The 6PX has one major flaw and that is the tail cap . There is nothing to prevent the light from turning on unless the base is turned which adds another step to your defense posture and although the grip is improved ,it can be pulled out of ones hand with ease. I solved that problem by using the rubber base from my old E2D Maybe you could go back to the older style which also above the level of the switch Best Regards.

- Surefire reliability
This is the 6th Surefire I have purchased, staring with the 65 lumen and 120 lumen incandescent models. I also have the early single and dual switch LEDs and really appreciate the 320 lumen model with it high intensity and long life. I have high expectations with Surefire products and have not been disappointed yet.

- A better Defender
I have owned a defender series in the past. Great light. This model has a more effective Strike Bezel that feels like it will get someone attention if I ever had to use it. The light is brighter also. The 6PK paid for itself very quickly, I found a expensive ring under my bed that I lost two years ago. Thanks.

- Another great light
This is the second of these I've recently bought. This ones for my wife. She really liked mine a lot...I could see where this was going. Just ordered the recharger and batteries, so we can both use these a lot more and no worries about burning up batteries. Her G2X Pro is now in Jeeps console as a spare and my EB1 Backup is now hers, too. It's ok since my new Backup is due in tomorrow. The woman is high maintenance...but what the heck...since she has my back, she is worth it. Great light, Surefire. Thanks, Randy

The powerful yet compact 6PX Defender is identical to our 6PX Tactical except for two features: one is the crenellated Strike Bezel® that can be useful in emergency situations, and the other is a click-type tailcap switchpress for momentary-on, press further to click constant-on, click again for off. Utilizing a high-efficiency LED that's virtually immune to failure, the 6PX Defender provides simplicity of operation and brilliant light focused by a micro-textured reflector that creates a wide 320-lumen beam with generous peripheral illumination. The 6PX Defender's high-strength aerospace aluminum body is smoothly sculpted for a comfortable, secure grip and is hard anodized to military specifications for extreme resistance to abrasion and corrosion. SureFire makes four other flashlights similar to the 6PX Defender that do not have a Strike Bezel. The first two are the previously mentioned aluminum-body 6PX Tactical and a polymer-body version of this light, the G2X Tactical, which both have tactical switching instead of the click switch. The second two are the dual-output 6PX Pro and a polymer-body version of this light, the G2X Pro, which both have click-type switching.
