- Battery Life
I own a SureFire 6P LED which is powered by two 123A 3 volt lithium batteries. The flashlight manual states that the shelf life of the battery is 10 years - a statistic that few battery owners use, acknowledge or care about when purchasing batteries. What battery users Do care about is the life of the battery when used, not stored. The manual states that the life of the battery is 11 hours. In other sections it sates that good, working light is available from the battery for over 11 hours.
I have purchased 24 batteries from SureFire but will purchase no more. I have found that under optimal conditions the battery will last no longer than 2 1/2 hours. Used in high drain situations the battery lasts no longer than 2 hours. Someone may feel that 2 hours is quite good for a dry cell battery - but not at the price that SureFire charges. The bizarre part here is the Huge discrepancy between the advertised life of a battery compared with the actual life of the battery. Missing by 500% is unusual for even the most aggressive advertisers.

- Great batteries
Purchased thes batteries and am quite happy with them. Just the ticket fo my backup light, they are lasting about 2 months each as I use my light every day for one thing or another. It also gave me enough stock to help a buddy out with some extras. If you use this style battery, you should get a box of these for yourself and stock up.

I have 5 nitrolon lights. 1 in a bug-out bag, 1 mounted on a Mossberg 590, 1 on a duty belt, 1 by my kitchen door, 1 in my shop. I took 1 with me to Israel for 5 weeks this sping, have 1 in my hunting jacket, our deer season opens tomorrow. They & 3 Streamlight SL-15s are the only lights we use. 2 of my boys are avid outdoorsmen; I get the lights back when the batteries are gone.
The Surefire batteries are amazing. They do not leak, they last a good long time & the price is great.

- Battery Comparison
Over the past 11 Years I have worked security and after reading about Sure Fire I bought a total of 5 Sure Fire Flashlights for myself and for my employees. I have never had a complaint about the flashlights or the length of time the batteries lasted. I will never buy any other companies similar products and will never recommend any other companies flashlights or batteries. They work and they will give great service. Only problem is if you are not careful they may just disappear.
